Bay Area Physical Therapy PA employs experienced account and billing staff that will help you understand the procedures of your insurance plan. As a courtesy we verify your benefits prior to your initial evaluation, and any benefit restrictions, deductibles, co-pays, and authorization requirements will be explained to you. Although, you are ultimately responsible for knowing your insurance plan benefits. This will allow you to receive the maximum benefits from your plan. Please be advised that we will require a prescription from your physician in order to file claims.
Medicare
Effective January 1, 2006, Medicare instituted a cap on all therapy services. This translates financially into a maximum of approximately 18 visits annually. However, there are exceptions and our billing staff will be happy to discuss the details with you.
Motor Vehicle
Claims can be filed directly to your auto insurance carrier with a physician's prescription. We will call and verify that you have benefits available. If your coverage includes Med Pay in addition to your PIP, there is no additional cost to you. If you have PIP only, there will be a remaining 20%. This amount along with any charges incurred after auto benefit exhaustion can be billed to your medical insurance.

Worker's Compensation
We are contracted with most plans in this area. These cases always require a prescription and prior authorization from your insurance adjustor for treatment. Our office will handle all requests for authorizations and keep you advised as to our progress. Our staff is experienced in dealing with the stringent requirements involved and will help you in any way we can.
