Individualized Cancer Program and Treatment Interventions
Pain and fatigue are symptoms which affect most patients following cancer treatment. The therapists at Bay Area Physical Therapy can offer individualized interventions to reduce pain, improve endurance and tolerance for everyday activities.
Cancer patients who are referred to Bay Area Physical Therapy will be evaluated and an appropriate plan of care will be discussed with both the patient and their physician. Individual treatment protocols will be implemented. Patients will also be educated on their home exercise program and appropriate handouts will be provided.
Graston Technique
Graston Techniques is a proven advanced technology for the treatment of connective soft tissue injuries. The protocols may also include the use of heat, ice and rehabilitation to restore patients to their pre-injury level of activity. Muscle re-education, in addition to stretching and strengthening exercises are employed to provide the patient with optimal results within a minimal number of treatments.
Kinesiotaping
Kinesiotaping is a treatment method stemming from the science of Kinesiology. Kinesiotape works to assist in positioning muscles/joints in the proper position for rehabilitation, assist weak muscles and place them in 'normal' positions, and improve kinesthetic awareness for proper posture and structural alignment.
